At Sneinton St. Stephen's, we want every child to flourish, regardless of background or starting point.

Pupil Premium is additional government funding provided to schools to improve outcomes for disadvantaged children. We use this funding carefully to remove barriers to learning, strengthen teaching and ensure children can participate fully in the curriculum and wider life of our school.

Around a third of children at Sneinton St. Stephen's are eligible for Pupil Premium, making this an important part of our commitment to equity and opportunity. 

Our approach

We know that disadvantage does not create the same barriers for every child. Our strategy is therefore shaped by what we know about our children, families and community, alongside evidence about approaches that make the greatest difference.

Our priorities include:

• high-quality teaching for every child
• developing language, vocabulary, reading and writing
• targeted academic support where it is needed
• promoting strong attendance
• supporting children's wellbeing and readiness to learn
• ensuring financial circumstances do not prevent children from accessing trips, residentials, enrichment and wider opportunities.

Opportunity beyond the classroom

Pupil Premium is about more than academic attainment.

We want every child to experience a rich and ambitious education. Funding helps ensure that financial circumstances do not limit children's opportunities to participate, discover their talents, experience new things and see possibilities for their future.

Our provision supports access to trips, residentials and enrichment, alongside wider opportunities including STEM, the arts, public speaking and representing our school beyond Sneinton St. Stephen's.
