Attendance and Punctuality
Regular and punctual attendance is an essential prerequisite to effective learning. At Sneinton St Stephen’s C of E Primary School we aim to develop an ethos which demonstrates to children, parents/carers and the wider community how much we value good attendance and punctuality. We expect all children to attend school every day.
Sneinton C of E Primary School is committed to providing an education of the highest quality for all its pupils and recognises this can only be achieved by supporting and promoting excellent school attendance for all.
We believe that attending school regularly and on time will help children to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them. When this is not the case, school leaders will take swift and effective action.
It is parent/carer responsibility to report a child's absence.
To report a pupil absence, please call 0115 9151370 or email tracey.shilcock@sneinton.nottingham.sch.uk
At Sneinton St Stephen's we aim to:
- Build strong relationships with families to ensure children have the support in place to attend school.
- Promote good attendance by setting an expectation that children should attend school every day.
- Reduce absence, including persistent and severe absence.
- Act early to address patterns of absence.
High attainment depends on good attendance.
The whole school community – pupils, parents and carers, teaching, support staff and school governors – have a responsibility for ensuring good school attendance, and have important roles to play.
If you have any questions regarding our school Attendance Policy or require support, please contact our Attendance Officer, Mr Buckmaster on 07886413285 or by email at tracey.shilcock@sneinton.nottingham.sch.uk
