Computing

We equip our children with the knowledge and skills they need to access the amazing opportunities afforded by 21st-century digital life in order to become accomplished safe, digital citizens. We are passionate about supporting our children to become digital creators and not digital consumers, by providing them with the opportunities to participate, contribute and pave the way in a rapidly changing world. Technology has the power to transform and empower our learners, and we strive to ensure every child leaves Year 6 digitally literate and competent in Computer Science.

Technology is a key enabler in delivering our world-class provision in all curriculum areas. Throughout their journey through school, children are taught how to access and deepen their learning with retrieval and application. A crucial element of our intent for computing and digital at Sneinton, is the delivery of a high-class and relevant e-safety curriculum, which supports our children to be responsible and responsive digital citizens, who recognise and act upon the benefits and dangers of the internet and digital devices.

At Sneinton, our Computing curriculum progression develops our children’s computational knowledge, thinking skills and promotes our students being leaders of learning through the theory and practice of coding. We strive to deliver a diverse computing curriculum which hugely deviates from narrowminded perceptions of computing careers in the past, and instead presents Computing as an innovative, fast-paced and diverse subject with an attainable career path.
